On an absolutely beautiful fall Saturday Nite October 18th, "Under The Lites" at Dallas Raceway, Oklahoma City’s Champ Wagoner took out Kansas City’s Roderick
Manshaw in the Top Bike Finals at the Texas Scooter Times’ Rock Solid Manufacturing Sponsored Fall Dallas "All Motorcycle" Championships.
…19 teams racing all sorts of different combinations of motorcycle dragsters including nitrous Pro Mod’s, Nitro Harleys, Nitrous Turbo Funny Bikes, Top Alcohol
Harleys & Turbo Import dragsters battled it out to the delete of the fan’s in the Run-What-You-Brung 16 bike Top Bike Eleminator.
…The quickest 8 bikes ran for the Top Bike Eleminator $1500 to win purse, Qualifiers 9 thru 16 ran for Top Bike Consolation money & trophys and the last 3 entrants
had the crowd whoopin’ it up as they "got it on" for the Top Bike Trophy Eleminator.
…The First Round of Top Bike started with Roderick Manshaw the # 1 qualifier taking out #5 Waxahachie Texas’ Kevin Drott. Local Dallas favorite Herman Freeman,
#2 qualifier took out #6 Balch Springs Texas’ Vernon Morrison Jr. & Champ Waggoner’s turbo dragster in at #3 took out #7 Richardson Texas’ Jocko Mitchell, the only
Harley in the quickest 8 when Jocko’s engine shot a ball of fire out the left side. Cedar Hill Texas’ David Davis #8 took out #4 Robert Beachum running out of
Duncanville Texas, setting up the Semi Battle.
…In the Top Bike Consolation Eleminator First Round, Glen Heights’ Texas’ Michel Arrinton #13 handled #9 Ron Bullard from Wylie Texas and Lake Dallas’ Larry
Eperjesi #14 bested #10 John Peek on his 176" Top Alcohol Harley running out of Houston. Arlington’s Alex Hughes #11 took a bye as Plano Texas based Clay
Holcomb couldn’t make the call with his Nitro Harley and Austin’s Randy Hamilton #12 handled #16 Bill Flattery from Garland aboard the last Nitro Harley in
competition.
…In Top Bike Trophy Low Qualifier Carmel Indiana’s Jason Rearich took a First Round Bye which set up Roy Sears III against his dad Roy Sears Jr. Both of their
bikes were having serious problems qualifying and it carried on into the First Round. Each bike broke going downtrack and coasted pretty well side by side thru the
lights with dad taking the win. Later in the evening Jason Rearich took a "lone run" for the trophy as the transplanted to Texas Californian couldn’t make it back for
the Finals.
…The Top Bike Semi’s saw Herman Freeman having trouble downtrack which gave Roderick Mansaw a win. Then Champ Wagoner also had an easy lap into the
Finals when David Davis’ bike slowed on the big end too.
…Top Bike Consolation shook down to Randy Hamilton taking the win back to Austin.
….The Final Round in Top Bike saw Champ leave on Roderick . 230 to .281 but the Kansas bike made up ground quickly as Wagoner only held a .02 lead at the 60’
1.14 to 1.16. At the 330’ it was Roderick ahead 3.19 to 3.41. Just before the 1/8th mile the Kansas bike in the right lane headed for the center making Roderick
Mansaw take serious corrective actions losing momentum allowing Oklahoma City’s Champ Wagoner to take the win for the 2nd year in a row.
…The Fall Dallas "All Motorcycle" Championships also ran Nostalgia Fuel Harley, 8.90 Index & 9.50 Index Classes along with Pro E.T., Street E.T., Harley E.T. &
several Heads Up Trophy Classes. Reports on the Sportsman Racing Program will be posted on www.texasscooter.com as soon as possible.
…The 2010 Texas Style Party Drags Series was defiantly one of the toughest of promoter Red Roberts’ 31 years in the Drag Racing business. Aside from any problems
with the overall economic slowdown, 3 out of the 5 races in the series were rained out including the Houston "All Motorcycle" Championship Drags which took 2 trys
to finish.
…Plans for the 2011 season are for a somewhat similar schedule and format which will be announced as soon as possible.
